4/1-4/3/2022 Day trip to Hawaii. Well, technically 48 hours on the ground - two half-days and a full one. My kind of travel, a bit surreal. Examples abound on this blog. I call it 'strobe light travel' - makes for persistent memories. Have miles so why not. It's really just a short 15 minute drive to the airport and the rest 'just happens'. Rented a car and camped at a state campground on the beach, near the North-Eastern corner of the island. This is my first real trip to Oahu (been to Maui and Big Island previously, did visit Pearl Harbor but nowhere else on Oahu until now). This time I drove literally everywhere - all the coast line that you can drive, and down the middle too. Over 200 miles traveled on an island measuring some 40 miles long and 30 miles across.
Got to use my jacket a lot, which I didn't expect to.
The photo dump below sums it up. Not bad for a weekend. Now back to reality.
